He was a Britannic drammatic poet and author: he was born in New York in 1907 and died in Vienna in 1973. He travelled a lot in Europe and China. Moreover he often changed his home-place, infact he lived partly in the USA and Germany then in England and Spain when he fought during the Civil War . He also was a reporter during the China-Japanese War and in this period wrote three of the most important works of his production:Spain(1973); In time of War(1939) and Commentary(1939). In spite of all these travels around the world he didn’t break his links with Italy, where he used to spend some months every years.
